COMMUNITY AWARDS SCHEME DETAIL

1. AIM OF THE COMMUNITY AWARDS SCHEME

Nutfield Parish Council is proud of the many community organisations/individuals/activities in the parish and the community spirit of residents. The Parish Council is keen to recognise the achievements of those people who voluntarily and selflessly work to improve and enhance the lives of local people. In recognising the huge benefit of this kind of work it is hoped that others will be inspired to contribute to make the parish of Nutfield an even better place to live and work.

The aim of presenting awards is to promote pride in the community and to promote the idea of the community as something to be valued. The presentation of the awards will provide an opportunity to increase awareness of the good works in the parish and to allow that work to be celebrated.

2. COMMUNITY AWARDS

NutfieldParish Council invites you to nominate anyone who you feel deserves to be recognised for their contributions. They can be an adult (over 18), a young person (under 18) or a community group. The awards will be presented in an awards ceremony (no fixed event or date) to which everyone is invited to thank these unsung heroes who make a real difference. The date of the next awards ceremony will be publicised.

3. NOMINATIONS

The Parish Council will aim to make residents aware of the awards by including details and a nomination form in the Nutfield Link to all households and on the website. It will be further promoted on noticeboards and via Facebook and Twitter.

Members of the public can nominate someone for a community award by email, attaching a completed nomination form or writing to the council (with the nomination form) stating why they think they should receive an award.
