The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs has launched a Zoo Animals Fund, which is open for applications for zoos or aquariums affected by COVID-19. This replaces the Zoos Support Fund announced earlier this year and is designed to help operators of zoos and aquariums provide for their animals until the start of the next season.

The fund offers grants to cover essential animal keeping costs, such as veterinary care, animal feed and staffing costs and it can also be used to support businesses which are downsizing, closing or rehoming animals. The application window closes on 16 November.
