NALC has published the 2021 edition of Points of Light, highlighting the excellent work local (parish and town) councils have done to support their communities.

Points of Light aims to promote good practice and raise awareness of the various services local councils facilitate. Managing the local water supply, providing free breakfast packs for families on low incomes, employing a family support worker, operating a discounted housing scheme and setting up a food bank are just some of the examples contained in this year’s edition.

Points of Light is a collection of case studies that include summaries and information on the electorate, precept and expenditure that highlight the work of England’s 10,000 local councils.
