The current situation has impacted us all differently and some people’s health and wellbeing may have been affected too. People who develop symptoms of mental ill health while shielding can access help and support from the NHS:
- Every Mind Matters is provided by Public Health England, with tips to look after your mental health and wellbeing.
- Your GP can help you access psychological therapies for conditions like anxiety and depression, which are currently being offered digitally and remotely.
- People with more severe needs can be referred by their GP to secondary mental health services, which are also being delivered remotely where necessary.
- The NHS website lists a range of other urgent support for people of any age experiencing a mental health crisis.
Let’s Talk Loneliness provides advice and links to targeted sources of support for those experiencing loneliness, both nationally and locally.
