From the organisers (SkyLine Events) of the London to Brighton Cycle Ride…
They would like to remind you that participants in our charity London to Brighton Cycle Ride will be passing through Nutfield parish on Sunday 15 September.
As per the previous nine years, cyclists will be setting off from Clapham Common in London on route to Brighton. They do not envisage this causing any major disruption on the day, however between the hours of 10.00-14.30 you will notice increased bicycle movement and traffic in this particular area. To facilitate the safety of the participants, there will be a road closure on the C203 Upper Beacon Road / Ditchling Road, Ditchling between the hours of 00.01 hrs–23.59 hrs on the 15th September, where diversions will be in place. There will be marshals along the route, as well as multiple support vehicles to monitor safety and assist any cyclists.
For your reference, please find a map of the cycle route on the link below, where you will be able to zoom in to see all the roads that the cyclists will be travelling on:
Cyclists will be raising funds for a multitude of charities, both large and small and hope to raise in excess of £1M from this event. However, as I’m sure you’re aware, none of this would be possible without the support of local residents and councils, who the organisers cannot thank enough for their ongoing understanding and patience.
They really hope the cycle does not inconvenience you in any way, and if you require any further information, please do not hesitate to get in touch with SkyLine events – www.skylineevents.co.uk as they would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. On behalf of the charities represented they would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all the residents in the surrounding area of the route for their continued support.
