Libraries in Surrey reopen from 6 July
Libraries across Surrey, including Oxted, will start to reopen from 6 July, with a range of measures in place to keep residents and library staff safe.
- Each library will run a reduced service, with reduced space for visitors.
- Additional cleaning measures and other social distancing guidelines will be in place.
- While residents are free to visit libraries to browse and borrow books, they won’t be able to use public computers, printing services, read newspapers or use study space and seating areas.
- A free reservation service will be available, as well as a new ‘Ready Reads’ service, where library staff handpick a selection of books for residents, based on what they usually enjoy reading.
Surrey Libraries has also launched its own YouTube channel, following the popularity of its videos during lockdown.
More information, including a full list of the libraries reopening, is available on Surrey County Council’s website.
