Anyone in the same household, childcare bubble or support bubble as a pupil or someone who works in a school or college is eligible for twice weekly symptom free testing.

The rapid tests can be accessed in three ways:

  • Booking into one of the symptom-free tests sites and participating pharmacies.
  • Collecting them from local test sites – these are separate sites to the symptom-free test sites.
  • Ordering tests through the government website, if you can’t get to a local site.

Children and young people will be tested using their school or college testing scheme. School and college staff can access home testing kits through their workplace.

More information is available on the Surrey County Council website.

The government has published updated guidance on the use of face coverings in schools and other education settings. The guidance recommends pupils in Year 7 and above should wear face coverings in classrooms and during activities unless social distancing can be maintained, except where wearing a face covering would impact on the ability to take part in exercise or strenuous activity, like PE lessons.
