All essential workers in England and members of their households who have shown symptoms of coronavirus can now get tested.
Eligible key workers who live in Surrey can book a test by registering on the Surrey Heartlands website instead of the government website. This will help the NHS prioritise requests in Surrey, ensuring people get the test they need. It also allows the NHS to collect vital data, such as the numbers of people accessing testing across the county.
The tests will take place at drive-through test centres, located across the country, with home testing kits available for those not able to travel to a test centre.
Testing will help you know whether you need to continue isolating, or if you don’t have coronavirus, whether you can get back to work once you feel better.
A list of essential key workers and those prioritised for testing can be found on GOV.UK and any essential workers who are self-isolating should register for a test within 24 hours of self-isolating
