From November to the end of January, our street cleaning service changes its focus to concentrate on clearing leaves from pavements and roads. The team also collects litter, empties dog waste and litter bins and removes flytipping.

Roads are selected for leaf clearing in priority order, as well as volume of leaves to be cleared. Many roads need repeated visits and it is not practical to have all roads at the same priority level.

We are often contacted by residents at this time of year who want their road cleaned urgently, but we must keep to our schedule to make sure the leaves don’t cause any issues.

Please do not blow leaves from your property onto the pavement, or into the road. Fallen leaves belong to whoever owns the land they fall on and the property owner should dispose of leaves responsibly.

We apologise for any inconvenience these changes may cause and thank residents for their patience and co-operation.
