The CCTV installation for the village scheme has started with three cameras at the village hall. Following some innovation by our installer we believe we can proceed with further installations at a much-reduced cost. This will allow the scheme to be completed earlier that first thought. Approval has been given for a further two cameras to be installed and for the scheme to proceed to costing for a further 8 cameras.
We have had many questions about the scheme, and I can reassure residents that a full assessment was made before suggesting locations for cameras. A full ‘impact survey’ must be completed to comply with the requirements of the Information Commissioner and legislation. This survey uses Police information on reported crime and incidents together with local information allowing the most efficient positioning of the scheme.
