Tandridge District Council  have started writing to every property in the district to check the right people are on the Electoral Register and able to vote in the next local elections in May 2022. This is known as the Annual Canvass.

It’s important they have this information, so please read your letter or e-mail carefully, as it will tell you what to do if you need to respond, as not all households will have to.

Due to the way the canvass is run, not all properties will receive their letters or e-mails at the same time.

From October, if we haven’t heard from residents who need to provide a response, TDC will be contacting them by phone and by safely visiting them at home, so they can get this important information.

They will soon be launching a recruitment campaign for anyone interested in helping us by becoming a door to door canvasser. This work will involve visiting the homes of residents who haven’t yet provided a response and safely checking the right people at that address are on the Electoral Register.
