Reigate & Banstead Borough Council (RBBC) are currently consulting on its Development Management Plan Proposed Submission document (Regulation 19).
This Consultation will run from: Wednesday 10 January until 5pm on 23 February 2018.
The Consultation will deal with numerous issues but the primary matter that could affect Nutfield Parish is the proposal to Safeguard land at Redhill Aerodrome.
Local Planning Authorities can Safeguard land in order to plan for and meet longer-term development needs.
Safeguarded land is therefore safeguarded for future development, not from development.
If Redhill Aerodrome is successfully safeguarded by Reigate and Banstead Borough Council it will directly and negatively impact Nutfield Parish. RBBC would only be able to Safeguard the part of the Aerodrome that falls within their administrative boundary (about 35% of the entire Aerodrome site).
Even though we reside within the Tandridge District Council area, we are permitted to comment on plans put forward for consultation by neighbouring authorities.
NPC strongly encourage Nutfield residents get involved in this RBBC Consultation.
You can do so by visiting: http://www.reigate-banstead.gov.uk/dmp
Information about Redhill Aerodrome appears on pages 158/159 of the Consultation.
NPC will submit a formal response to this Consultation. We continue to believe that the existing Green Belt should be protected.
However, it is vital that residents respond stating their own views.
Please contribute to the protection of Nutfield Parish by getting involved.
